Waste to Waves Project

Back in October, while we we’re spreading the Envirosurfer message at the Sacred Craft tradeshow, we meet some awesome people who had an even more awesome idea. The Waste to Waves Project is a program to recycle styrofoam into new Marko EPS blanks… Ever buy something new and fabulous only too have it ridiculously packed with huge amounts of useless styrofoam that you can’t recycle? Well worry no longer,,,Waste to Waves will help you recycle that perfectly usable foam into a new board!

How you ask….Well all you need to do is collect all of your waste Expanded Polystyrene Foam (it’s gotta be clean, white, EPS foam), then drop it off at your local surf shop that participates in the program (Complete list here)…and thats it! From there Marko Foam picks up the foam ,grounds it up, and reprocesses it into new recycled EPS blank.

Love Supporting Eco-friendly boards! If you’re looking for more information on recycled surfboards, check out our 100% Recycled EPS boards, with hemp tail patches, and Epoxy glass with bio-derived components.
